All Season Tires vs Winter Tires

When the temperature drops below 7°C we recommend switching to winter tires. Even though all season tires provide optimal grip in most weather conditions, all season tires in winter will lose some of their handling effectiveness as the rubber compound stiffens and road surfaces get colder. Winter tires can stop your vehicle up to 30% sooner in winter conditions, such as ice and snow. In some provinces, winter tires are legally required.

All Weather vs All Season Tires

All weather tires have certain advantages depending on the season. In winter, all weather tires can provide improved grip and traction versus all season tires. In summer, all weather tires can provide better handling versus winter tires. However, they are a compromise. All weather tires tend to wear faster than all season tires and do not provide optimal traction during winter conditions. It is recommended to use dedicated tires for the winter and all season tires for the remainder of the year.

Storing Tires

At Certified Service, we like to make things more convenient and efficient for you. That’s why many of our dealers offer storage solutions for your off season tires. Whether all season or winter tire swap, you won’t have to worry about finding extra space or transporting your tires back and forth – everything will be in one place.

Tire Protection Plan

The Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Tire Protection Plan is the only tire road hazard plan designed specifically for buyers of GM vehicles. The Plan provides coverage for certain tire and wheel damage caused by road hazards as well as emergency flat tire assistance.
